Celest is a geek that loves anatomy, neuroscience and biomechanics. She acquired her BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy in 2009, and has recently started studying functional neurology. Her yoga classes are a mixture of creative movement backed by science and education. She co-authoroed the book Too Flexible to Feel Good, which is a roadmap for anyone struggling with hypermobility. Her goal is to have you sweaty, occasionally blowing your mind with cool facts and after her sessions she wants you to leave feeling happy.

15:00 – 16:30 | Safe Sweet Stability  – Never Fall Again (education and movement) | Shavasana Shala

Learn the science of stability in this fun workshop that will flip what you thought stability was all about, on its head. We will explore the science of some unusual and strange ways to improve stability in every shape your body can make. All tips shared are backed by science and underpinned by anatomy, helping you gain greater understanding of how to improve REFLEXIVE stability.

Forget conscious control. The science is way past this now and it’s time to update your knowledge on how to bring a more stable base into your practice.

12:30 – 14:00 | The Diaphragm and It’s Magic | Shavasana Shala

One of the largest, most vital and fascinating muscles in the body, the diaphragm is also one of the most misunderstood. This workshop will be all about learning more about the morphology and mysteries of our breathing pump, and all the other systems of the body that rely on its function.

15:00 – 16:30 | Demystifying Your Hips | Flowstage

The hips and pelvis are often poorly mapped parts of the body, making your awareness of this area a challenge. However for many of us, our intuition tells us that this central, core area of the body holds the key to unlocking many parts of the yoga practice once fully understood. This class is a deep dive into the anatomy, neural anatomy and biomechanics of this critical area. There is so much to learn and unlearn looking at the latest scientific evidence and a variety of unconventional movements we can explore to take what we can do with our bodies to the next level.

12:30 – 14:00 | 3D Exploration of the Spine | Flowstage

We often explore the spine in the traditional ranges, either flexing, extending, side bending or rotating. But the spine is a complex structure that requires 3D exploration to strengthen the musculature as a symphony and to help support detailed maps in the brain.

In this workshop will move through all the variables the spine has to offer in a beautiful flow, full of education and connection. This is a unique class that will unlock parts of your body you never dreamed possible.

17:00 – 18:30 | Perfect Parasympathetic Peace – Chill Zone (meditation/nidra practice) | Shavasana Shala

This is a meditative, yoga Nidra session that uses the brainstem to target the parasympathetic tone in the body. It’s used to help balance your energy and restore your mind by targeting the 12 cranial nerves.

In this session we will first learn about the cranial nerves, their function and how we can use them to bring your nervous system into a state of rest and repair. Worth showing up with warm clothes and props to help you feel comfortable as we lay on the floor.

By now your arms are burning and if you have to do another chataranga you just might cry. Don’t worry my amazing friend, I’ve got you. What you need now is not to do proper yoga or fill your brain with more information, what you need is to have fun. And that is what this session is all about: switching off your brain, letting your hair down and enjoying the moment.
